Meditation Drop-In
This is an open meditation gathering that is offered at no charge – donations are accepted but there is no obligation. We invite anyone who wishes to gather in a group meditation setting to come and participate. This is not a meditation class, it is for people who already have some meditation experience and simply want to gather in a place conducive to practice. People interested in learning to meditate should see our website listings for classes.
Dates and times are available on Meet-up.com. Please arrive promptly so as not to disturb the session. Bring comfortable clothes and whatever personal meditation gear you desire. We have a limited amount of cushions, seats, eye pillows, and blankets. Complimentary reverse osmosis water and tea is available. This is an accepting, and non-judgmental gathering of open minded people who have a desire to share in the group power of meditation. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call. Although not required, it is appreciated if you can RSVP by calling: 815-899-6000 or sending an email to info@yourcfib.com.
We look forward to seeing you. |

Northern Illinois Shamanic Drumming Circle
Although journeying experience is not required; this gathering is primarily for those who have some familiarity with Shamanic Journeying.
We open the circle with a general request to the earth and all things living to be present with us.
An opportunity is available for participants to state some intentions for general drumming. Then we do a group drum / rattle for those intentions. Afterwards, we open the circle for comments or discussion.
Next, a solo drummer (or a few drummers) drum for the other group members so they can do their personal journeys. If participants don't have journeying experience, they can simply meditate or be present during this portion. At the end of the journey time, we open for comments and discussion.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own drums or rattles as the Center has limited instruments for people to use.
The gathering lasts for about 90 minutes. Dates and times available on Meetup.com
We look forward to seeing you soon! |
Movie Night
Are you tired of what "Mainstream Hollywood" has to offer? Would you prefer to view movies in a small group environment where, after viewing, you have the option to discuss thoughts about the film? If so, we will be hosting a Movie Night at the Center. Movies will be chosen from a collection of films that deal with topics such as human growth potential, spirituality, metaphysics, and other topics that are geared to develop and uplift the spirit.
Most of the films we will be showing are not available in traditional movie theaters or video rental stores. Although our viewings are free to the public, we are limited by various licensing agreements that may apply, therefore; many of the films may only be shown in a group setting once and allow no more than 20 people for a showing. Due to this limitation, we will be posting dates and movie titles ahead of time and suggest that you RSVP early so that we know whether or not we have enough people for a showing and not too many to violate the permissions granted by the movie makers.
Why not try it out? Come join others in our setting to explore what this form of entertainment and education may provide. There is ample free parking and we have reverse osmosis and hot water for tea. |
