Jennifer Wrobel, LMT     My name is Jennifer Wrobel.  I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and a Professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.  I graduated, with Certification in Massage Therapy, from the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts, located in Tucson, Arizona, in the year 2000.  I offer Swedish Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, and Energetic Body Balancing.

I was first introduced to Massage and Bodywork, in 1995, when I attended the Institute for Health and Healing.  The two year certification program provided training in various techniques involving the use and practice of Energy Work.  In this case, Energy refers to the energy the Physical Body carries within it, and the energy that radiates out from the body.  Both of these energies, when taken into account as a whole, define the Energetic Body.  The intention of Energy Work is to work with this Energetic Body to facilitate natural healing.  Inherently, energy work is included in every massage.  But, for a more focused experience, I also offer sessions that are specifically designed to address the Energetic Body, do not include massage, or require the removal of any clothing.  These sessions are called Energetic Body Balancing.  I believe Energy Work and Massage Therapy are absolutely synergistic in their relationship to one another.  I decided to learn massage therapy because I began to see the Physical and Energetic bodies as One Body.

In massage school, I took particular interest in deep specific therapies, including deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy.  Mostly, because I saw how these techniques produce tremendous results, especially in cases of injury, recovery, rehabilitation, and chronic pain patterns.  Contrary to popular belief, deep tissue therapy is appropriate for everyone and anyone who is interested.  “Deep” is a relative term.  The primary intention of deep tissue massage is to work deep, and often specific, into the muscle to break down unhealthy tissue.  The muscle can, then, rebuild in a healthy pattern.  It doesn’t have to be unpleasant.  Clients are encouraged to verbalize their pain threshold.  I stay aware of any signs of pain or discomfort, and I check in with the client when I sense the body’s resistance.  If it’s uncomfortable, it’s counterproductive.  This level of tolerance is different for each individual, but the same healing results can be achieved.  I also took an interest in Aromatherapy while I was in massage school, and I’ve continued with my studies and interest ever since.  Essential Oils have their own special properties.  They have individual aromas, as well as, their own creative and amazing medicinal effects.  The aromatherapy massages I offer include only “therapeutic grade” essential oils.  I customize these oils according to the client’s needs and preferences.

Swedish Massage is the backbone of any kind of massage.  Practiced as a single modality, it’s everything massage therapy promises to be.  It includes all of the benefits associated with massage therapy.  It can be geared toward certain areas of tension, but its main goal is general relaxation and stress relief.  Therapeutic Massage is more problem focused.  It combines Swedish Massage with other, more specific types of massage therapy.  You will want to request Therapeutic Massage if there is a definite issue you want to address.

Twelve years of training and practice have educated me in many different aspects of Natural Healing and Wellness.  My approach to massage therapy reflects this holistic background, as well as, a genuine interest in your health and higher sense of well being.

Questions are welcome, and all sessions are customized.
